The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that occurred at the Carroll County Landfill.

The fire broke out at about 3:42 a.m. Tuesday, Aug 21, according to a Notice of Investigation. The blaze occurred in a Titan 48-foot aluminum 2-axle Thin Wall Tipper Truck Trailer, according to the notice.

There was an estimated $100,000 structure loss, and no one was injured in the incident. It took 15 firefighters about an hour to control the fire. The Reese Volunteer Fire Company was the primary responding agency, according to the notice.

The fire began in the interior of the trailer, and the cause remains under investigation, according to the notice.
