Carroll Hospital will host its ninth annual Total Health Expo on Saturday, Oct. 27, with a seasonable theme: Goblins, ghouls and good health.
“We encourage children to come dressed in their Halloween costume so they can receive free prizes,” said Carroll Hospital Marketing Specialist Meghan Gonzalez, before adding, “and it’s a good opportunity to wear your costume twice.”
This free event, hosted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the hospital’s east pavilion, 291 Stoner Ave., Westminster, will also offer face painting, a coloring area and storytelling for children, according to Gonzalez.
For the adults, there will be a host of health screenings and educational materials on hand.
“We will have blood pressure, body fat analysis, diabetes analysis, osteoporosis and pulmonary,” Gonzalez said.
There will also be an array of presentations, including on healthy eating, according to Gonzalez.
“We also have some healthy recipes and snacks available,” she said. “We will have one of our nutritional educators available providing some healthy samples. If you are looking for some new recipes, she’ll be there.”
Also, there will be an offering of what are sometimes called alternative or complimentary medicine practices, including acupuncture, massage and reiki and more, according to Gonzalez. These are also free, but with the exception of acupuncture, require advanced registration by calling 410-871-7000.
