A Westminster home was damaged by a fire Thursday evening.
The call for service went out just after 6 p.m., and approximately 40 firefighters from the Westminster, Reese, New Windsor and Pleasant Valley companies responded to the residence in the 600 block of Spring Meadow Drive.
Upon arrival, responders observed smoke showing from the single-family dwelling, according to Kevin Dayhoff, spokesman and chaplain for the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department.
Westminster initiated an interior attack, and the fire was immediately extinguished, he said.
Significant damage to the structure was observed. The Office of the State Fire Marshal estimates the damage to structure and contents at $65,000, according to a notice of investigation.
