Two pets perished in a house fire in the 1100 block of Singer Drive in Westminster on Monday.

The first call went out just after noon, and responders arrived to a working fire, according to Bob Cumberland, spokesman for the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department. Approximately 35-40 firefighters were on-scene and controlled the one-alarm fire in approximately 15 minutes. The Westminster Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responder.

No human injuries were reported following the blaze. Firefighters rescued a third house pet from the residence.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
