Pedestrian taken to shock trauma after being struck on Md. 140

Maryland State Police said a pedestrian was struck at 8:12 p.m. Wednesday on westbound Md. 140 near Malcolm Drive in Westminster.

The pedestrian was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, according to a spokesperson from the state police Westminster Barrack.

A vehicle traveling west in the far right lane of the highway struck the pedestrian after the individual crossed in front of the vehicle from the right shoulder of the road, police said.

Preliminary investigation suggests the driver was not at fault, according to police.
