Veterans Day originally commemorated the end of World War I. It started as Armistice Day, but in 1954, President Eisenhower changed it to Veterans Day.

According to the History Channel’s website, “Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans— living or dead — but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.”

Several West Carroll events will give the community the opportunity to honor and thank veterans who served. Please consider attending one of them and thank a vet!
