Grace United Church of Christ will host a Bingo Night, Friday, Oct.19, at the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company Activities Building, 41 Memorial Drive. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Games get underway at 7. Admission is $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
If you want a free senior jackpot card, bring a canned goods donation (limit one per person). A variety of games will be played including 10 cash games. Other prizes include baskets and bags by Thirty-One, Coach and Michael Kors. Proceeds will benefit the Grace UCC Community Projects.
Union Bridge fire company to host breakfast
The community is invited to attend the monthly breakfast hosted by the Union Bridge fire company.
The event, slated for Sunday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 11:30 a.m., will be held at the fire hall, 8 W. Locust Street, Union Bridge. The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, hominy, puddin’, potatoes, biscuits, muffins, fruit, orange juice, tea, and coffee. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for kids 6-12. Kids under 6 eat free. Carry-out is available for $10.

Innkeeper to speak at Museum Association meeting
The Taneytown Heritage and Museum Association monthly meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ Parish Hall. The guest speaker for the evening, Chris Tillman, of George’s of York, Taneytown’s newest bed and breakfast located at 10 York Street. Tillman, who is innkeeper along with his wife, Sharon, will discuss the history of the home that now houses the bed and breakfast as well as how they came to be the innkeepers. The presentation will follow a short business meeting. Light refreshments will be served. Meetings are free and open to the public.
If you haven’t already visited the museum’s 2018 exhibit, Century of Toys 1890-1990, the exhibit will only be open until Nov. 18. Museum hours are Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.
Harney fire company auxiliary serving carnival favorites
The Harney Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary will be serving carnival menu favorites Saturday, Oct. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the fire hall, 5130 Harney Road. Menu items include hot chicken sandwiches, mashed potatoes, barbecue sandwiches, chicken corn soup, pepper slaw, iced tea, cake, and coffee. All items are individually priced.
Learning Center to host Trunk or Treat
Grace United Learning Center will host a Trunk or Treat event, Friday, Oct. 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore Street. Members of the community, ages 12 and under, are invited to come out in costume to enjoy trick or treating trunk to trunk (please note all children must be accompanied by an adult). Hot dogs, drinks, and snacks will be provided.
