The Taneytown Heritage and Museum Association will host a "Tea 'n' Talk" at the museum, 340 E. Baltimore Street, on Friday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. A presentation by the Quilt Curator, Le Rowell will run from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
If you haven't had the opportunity to stop in to see the "Story Quilts from around Taneytown" display, this is the perfect opportunity!
In addition to the display of over 40 quilts, the museum offers an assortment of Amish-made brooms including barn brooms, house brooms and toy brooms. Other items included the 2017 Holiday Ornament featuring the Cambridge Rubber Company.
Don't forget to mark your calendar for the museums Fall meeting, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 25, 7 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore Street. Guest Speaker will be Tom Gordon of Silver Images Antiques who will share a collection of antique items. Light refreshments will be served.
Union Bridge Fire Company to hold Bingo Banquet
Get out your Bingo Daubers and join the fun on Sept. 16 when the Union Bridge Fire Company hosts a Bingo Banquet. Tickets are $30 each, and include a meal of fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, coleslaw, rolls, cake, pie and cookies. Harney fire company to host dinner
Let the Harney Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary take the stress out of dinner (if just for one evening).
On Saturday, Sept. 23, from 4 to 6 p.m., the Auxiliary will be serving hot chicken sandwich platters and a variety of items from the Harney Carnival menu, including mashed potatoes, barbecue sandwiches, chicken corn soup, pepper slaw, iced tea, coffee and cake. All menu items are individually priced. Choose as much or as little as you want but make sure you bring your appetite!

New Windsor Auxiliary Apple Dumpling sale
The New Windsor Auxiliary is currently taking orders for homemade apple dumplings. Dumpling orders can be placed by calling 410-775-7402. Each dumpling is $3. Deadline for placing orders is September 22. Proceeds benefit the New Windsor Fire Company. All orders must be picked up at the fire station on Friday, September 29, 12 to 2 p.m.
Trinity celebrates anniversary of Reformation
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church will host an Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2 to 6 p.m. The church is located at 38 W. Baltimore Street, Taneytown.
Members of the Maryland Accordion Club will provide musical entertainment while attendees sample a variety of German delights supplied by Friendly Farms. A silent auction, with proceeds benefiting Carroll County Habitat for Humanity, will be held throughout the day.

Springdale Preparatory School ribbon cutting ceremony
Springdale Preparatory School will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony, reception and open house, Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the school grounds, 500 Main Street, New Windsor.
Guest speakers include Secretary of Higher Education, James D. Fielder, Jr., State Delegate, Susan Krebs, and Carroll County Commissioner Richard Weaver.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, there will be a robotics demonstration courtesy of the Robotics class, as well as guided tours of the campus.
