Dream Big Union Bridge has teamed up with Originals Pizza in Union Bridge for a sub sale to benefit programs established by DBUB.

Penny Larson, a volunteer with Dream Big Union Bridge said, “Originals Pizza is known throughout Carroll County for its excellent Italian food. They make all the bread and pizza dough in-house and it is evident as soon as you take a bite, the flavor, fragrance and texture are a delight to savor.”


Choice of subs include Italian or Ham and Cheese for $6 each, and Turkey and Provolone or Roast Beef and Provolone for $8 each. Place your order by contacting Larson at 301-467-8820, or any member of DBUB. You can also pick up an order form from Originals or Esquire Liquors in Union Bridge. All orders must be paid for by Monday, August 13.

Orders can be picked up at Originals Pizza, 2 S. Main Street, Union Bridge, Monday, August 20, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Dream Big Union Bridge, an organization made up of Union Bridge residents working together to beautify and improve Union Bridge, has several events planned for the remainder of 2018, including helping the Union Bridge Lions with their Halloween Party in October.

Taneytown Senior Center hosting bus trip

For the train lovers among us, the Taneytown Senior Center is hosting a bus trip to spend an afternoon aboard the Potomac Eagle Train, in Romney, West Virginia.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 13. The bus will leave the Taneytown Food Lion parking lot at 9 a.m. and return at 9 p.m. that evening.

One stop along the way will include a buffet lunch at Cumberland Country Club. Cost for this adventure is $109 per person. For reservations and payment call 410-386-2700. Deadline to sign up and pay is Friday, Aug. 17.

Car show, festival slated for Aug. 18.

Emmanuel Baust United Church of Christ, 2950 Old Taneytown Road, Tyrone, will host the annual Antique Car and Tractor Show and Peach Festival, Saturday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come out and check out all the cars and tractors, pick your favorites, and cast your vote!

While you are pondering which one to vote for, consider getting a bite to eat. Food items, available throughout the day include hot dogs, barbecue, ham sandwiches and peaches and ice cream. Chips and drinks are available as well.

A variety of vendors including Pass Love Around, Lularoe, Thirty-One, Chalk Couture, Papparazzi, and The Faithful Stamper will display their wares for your perusal in the upstairs level of the parish hall. Several vendors have donated items for a silent auction. Raffle tickets will be on sale for a water color painting of the church done by Cathy Dull. The raffle will take place at the end of the event.
