Mayberry First Church of God, at 2428 Mayberry Road in Westminster, will hold a Community Easter Egg Hunt for kids 12 and younger Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. This event runs rain or shine.

Springdale Preparatory School, at 1000 Green Valley Road, will host the New Windsor Lions Club Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20, at noon. Age brackets are up to age 5; 6 to 8 years old; and 9 to 12. The Easter bunny plans to stop by. This event runs rain or shine.

Emmanuel (Baust) UCC Community Sunrise Service

Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ will hold a Community Sunrise Service on April 21 at 6 a.m. The service will be held at the top of the cemetery hill, at 2950 Old Taneytown Road in Tyrone.

A light continental breakfast will be held at the conclusion of the service in the Parish Hall. Reverend Jeffry Dull will officiate.

American Legion Post to host Classic Country Dance

Taneytown American Legion Post No. 120 will host a Classic Country Dance featuring Paul Wagner and the Country Swingers on Saturday, April 20, from 7 to 11 p.m. at 9 Broad St.

Union Bridge fire company hosting Banquet Bingo

A Banquet Bingo Night will be held Saturday, April 27 at the Fire Hall, at 8 W. Locust St. in Union Bridge. For $30 you get a tantalizing meal, 20 regular games and five specials. The dinner menu includes fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, coleslaw, rolls, cake, cookies and iced tea. Doors open at 4 p.m., dinner is at 5, the Early Bird game starts at 6 and bingo starts at 6:30. Bingo bags will be available for purchase.

All game winners receive cash. In addition to the standard games, there will be special games, a 50/50 raffle, and a special raffle for anyone who brings a donation of an unexpired canned food item. One ticket per item donated. Food items will be donated to the local food bank.

Ladies Auxiliary to host spring supper, tea event

The Union Bridge fire company’s Ladies Auxiliary will host their Spring Pot Pie Supper on Sunday, April 28, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Social Hall at 8 W. Locust St.

The menu includes Slippery Chicken Pot Pie, all-you-can-eat buffet of sliced ham, peas, applesauce, rolls, drink and dessert. Tickets are $10 per person. Quarts of Slippery Chicken Pot Pie are available if ordered in advance for just $7. Please note, advance orders are due by April 22. To place your order, call 443-340-9462.

The Ladies Auxiliary will also host a Mother, Daughter and Friends Tea at the fire hall at 8 W. Locust St. on Sunday, May 5, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Dress in your Sunday best or fanciest tea party hat and treat your mom or daughter to a special day out.


In the old-fashioned tea party fashion, you will enjoy three-tier trays of finger sandwiches, spring vegetable soup, delicate desserts, fresh fruit and tea, all served on fine china and fresh linens.

Tickets are $17 for adults or $12 for children ages 10 and younger. Purchase a table for eight for just $125.
