Under the direction of Laura Wonsala, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is a classic musical based on Charles Schulz’s comic strip.
Written by Clark Gesner (with revisions by Andrew Lippa and Michael Mayer), the play spans the months from “Valentine’s Day to Beethoven Day, from wild optimism to utter despair.”
Cast of characters includes Lucy, Schroeder, Sally, Linus, Snoopy, and, of course Charlie Brown. Featured songs include “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Happiness, and My New Philosophy.”
Music is under the direction of Michael Livingston and Camden Roach. Choreography is under the direction of Kelsey Jezierski. Assistant directors are Ayden Behn and Abby Upshaw.
Players on Air is a 501c3 not for profit organization established in 2017. Laura Wonsala, president and founder of the organization, said, “As a non-profit, we rely on donations as well as sponsors and local business advertisers. We’ve also had some wonderful people [in the community] reach out to let us know they have furniture, clothes, and set pieces that they are willing to donate.”
As for future endeavors? Wonsala said, “Going forward, you can expect anywhere from 3-4 productions from us a year with the hopes of taking that to more productions as the years go on.”
The group will hold open auditions for a large holiday production. For more information on Players on Air check them out their Facebook page or call 732-687-6428.
