Begin the year with a taste of delicious wine and tapas at the County Cork Wine Pub this Jan. 2.
Arlene Stecher, one of the coordinators of this event, stated in an email interview that the County Cork Wine Pub has been hosting this event since 2011.
Stecher came up with the idea and style of the wine tasting.
“Many restaurants do wine dinners … I decided to do a wine tasting at a much lower price,” stated Stecher.
According to Stecher, throughout the event, the attendees will be tasting five wines and those will be paired with a unique dish. Also, a representative from the vineyard or the distributor are always at the tasting to share their knowledge with the attendees.
Also, Stecher stated that the representatives will walk around each table pouring the wines and discussing and educating the customer about the wines.
“I've been told by my customers over the years how much they enjoy the evening,” stated Stecher. “The customers are able to ask the wine rep questions and get educated and experience wines they may never get to.”
In addition, Stecher expects approximately 30 to 50 attendees at every tasting.
Stecher also stated that over the past 7 years, she has not repeated a wine tasting.
“I try to keep it fresh and informative,” stated Stecher.
The County Cork Wine Pub is located at 1716 Liberty Road, Eldersburg.
