South Carroll: Final Rock of Help Food Pantry at Ebenezer UMC set for Dec. 16

The Ebenezer United Methodist Church is celebrating its last Rock of Help Food Pantry of the year on Dec. 16, where those in need are more than welcome to come and get their essentials for their meals.

Sue Bergmann, the coordinator of this event, stated in an email interview, that they serve an average of 50 families each month.


Throughout the event, she also stated that for this food pantry, they will be hosting a breakfast, where they will be serving hot casseroles, meats, pancakes, coffee and more.

“We enjoy having this time … along with filling their food order while they eat,” stated Bergmann.

Also, Bergmann stated that the church is happy to announce that they will start building a new place for their future food pantries, which will be located behind the church building.

“We are very excited about this and can't wait to see it built,” stated Bergmann.

The groundbreaking ceremony was on Dec. 3.

Starting at 9 a.m., the church will have non-perishable foods, assorted frozen foods, non-food household items and children’s shoes available.

Admission to this event is free. This event ends at 11 a.m.

Drama Game Night Lock-In

This Jan. 19, come prepared to learn basic acting techniques in a fun and creative way at the Drama Game Night Lock-In brought to you by the Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library.

Throughout the program, the attendees will learn basic acting techniques and also play fun drama games with actual high school drama club members.

This event starts at 6 p.m. and it is targeted to kids ages 10 to 17 years old and there will be refreshments available.

Calvary Lutheran Church to host Christmas events

On Dec. 16, join Calvary Lutheran Church for its German Language Christmas Service starting at 3 p.m.

People are welcome to come worship in German. Also, the choir will be singing German Carols, and the brass choir will also be performing.

Throughout the event, they will serve coffee and German goodies.

Also, please join Calvary Lutheran Church for their special Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24.

At 3 p.m., they will host a traditional worship service with harp music, and then, at 5 p.m., they will have a traditional service geared towards families with children, offering brass music. Also, at 7 p.m., they will have a contemporary worship service led by the Praise Encounter team and lastly, they will host a traditional worship service with choir music at 11 p.m.
