This Monday, do not miss the opportunity of being part of the Nintendo Switch tournament at the “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” Summer Smash League at the Eldersburg branch library.

Throughout the program, the participants will be able to showcase their skills and at the same time, make new friends while competing in the popular Nintendo fighting game.

The library will have GameCube controllers, Joy-Cons and Pro controllers available to play on. Those who wish to use their own controllers are welcomed to bring them.

The event starts at 2 p.m. and it is targeted to kids from ages 8 to 17.

Sykesville Cinema presents ‘Moana’

This July 13, enjoy with family and friends a movie night in the Millard Cooper Park brought to you by Sykesville Cinema.

Sykesville Cinema will be showing “Moana,” a movie about a teenage girl who embarks on a journey hoping to find a way to save her people.

Please note that each show begins about 15 minutes after sundown. The attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.

Admission to this event is free, and attendees are welcome to bring donations of nonperishable food items for the Carroll County Food Sunday. The collection bins will be available at the event.

General parking is available at Sykesville Middle School.

Summer Reggae Wine & Music Festival

This July 20 and 21, come and enjoy delicious wines and amazing music at this year’s Summer Reggae Wine & Music Festival starting at 10 a.m.

The Summer Reggae Wine & Music Festival bills itself as the largest and longest-running wine festival in the Mid-Atlantic.

Throughout the festival, the attendees will enjoy live performances and taste Linganore Winecellars’ wines. They will be offering authentic island cuisine and hand-crafted goods from around the world.

On Saturday, the bands that will be playing are SecondHand, Ras Slick, and Kurlou Reggae Allstars. Then, on Sunday, the bands that will be playing are Nkula, Eastern Standard Time, and Image Band.

The event starts at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Please note that no pets, open containers, outside alcohol and open flames are allowed.

Admission to this event is $20 for active military 21 and older and $25 for general admission.
