On Thursday, Feb. 21, the Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library will be hosting the Bereavement Support Group with the help of the organization Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, to bring some comfort to those who are grieving a loved one.
Dorian Campbell is a member of Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, which is a hospice provider based in Columbia, and she will be facilitating the program for the second time this year.
Campbell explained, in an email interview, that she is a Carroll County resident and she came up with the idea of presenting this program at the library, especially for the residents in Carroll County and in the surrounding areas.
Throughout this program, she will be in charge of assisting those in need with grief counseling, processing loss, and moving forward through grief using music, writing, and other interactions.
She explained that the purpose of this program is to provide the community with the opportunity to work through grief in a safe environment.
Also, she encourages those who are going though this stage in their lives to attend the program because she believes that “people are grieving losses every day and they don’t necessarily have outlets in which to process this grief.” Campbell will serve as a tool for those in need throughout the program.
The program starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to any adults in need in the community.
For more information, you may contact the library at 410-386-4488. You may visit the Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care’s website to learn more, seasons.org.
The Eldersburg branch library is located at 6400 W. Hemlock Drive.
