On Saturday, Feb. 9, there will be 35 tables available for those who would like to sell their items and the yard sale lovers will not have to wait until the summer to enjoy a good yard sale at the Inside Yard Sale event brought to you by The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 191.

Janet Morris is one of the coordinators of the yard sale and she stated in an email interview that this is the first time they are hosting the indoor yard sale at the auxiliary.

She stated that the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 191 was looking for new fundraising ideas and they decided on hosting the inside yard sale.

According to Morris, yard sales are very popular in Mount Airy, but not in the winter. Having an indoor yard sale in town will be beneficial to those who love yard sales in our community.

Morris is hoping that this indoor yard sale becomes a success in town since this will determine if they will host it next year or not.

“I know that after the holidays is when I seem to organize my house and want to get rid of items; I do not think I am the only one. Hopefully this will be a huge success!” stated Morris.

Morris stated that they will have 35 tables with two chairs each available and each of them will cost $20.

She also emphasized that they hope to raise at least $720 from this event, and the money will be used to give back to the community and some military organizations.

According to Morris, as of now, they have several craft and yard sale vendors, who will be at the indoor yard sale. They have vendors from Tupperware, Stella and Dot, Thrive, The Cocoa Exchange, and Thirty-one.

Also, the Auxiliary will be running a concession stand with drinks and snacks.

The yard sale starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. and the set up time is 6:30 a.m. for those who purchase tables.

If it snows on Feb. 9, the event will be postponed to Feb.10.

For more information or to purchase your table, you may contact Dawn Kuczarski at 240-370-2691 or you may also contact Janet Morris at her email Americanism191@gmail.com.

You may also purchase your space at the Thursday Night Legion Bingo’s concession stand from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This event will be hosted at the Mt. Airy American Legion, which is located at 801 Prospect Rd.
