Get away from the cold weather and enjoy quality time with your family at the Family Winter Olympics brought to you by the Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library on Feb. 10.
Stephanie Johnson, children's library associate, stated in an email interview that this is the first time they have hosted this program.
Johnson also said that throughout the program, they will be hosting different types of games, such as relay races like a moguls course, a slalom course, pass the torch, ring toss, and much more.
Also, she stated that one of the games they will be hosting is the “mom’s calling contest,” where moms are blindfolded and must find their children by the sound of them yelling, “Mom!”
According to Johnson, each of the participants will receive their very own medal at the end of the program.
“This is an opportunity for families to do something together during the cold winter months,” stated Johnson. “It is also a great way to honor and celebrate the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.”
The 2018 Winter Olympics will take place from Feb. 9 through 25 in Pyeongchang County, South Korea.
“We are hoping for great family bonding time and the recognition of the Olympic purpose of peace and unity through sports,” explained Johnson.
Remember that throughout the program, the families will be competing against other families and each team must have a minimum of one adult and one child to participate.
This event starts at 1 p.m. and everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
Everyone must register today to attend the event.
