On Oct. 10, at the Oakmont Green Golf Course in Hampstead, the Hampstead Lions and the Lineboro-Manchester Lions clubs had a joint celebration of their charter anniversaries.
More than 70 Lions and Lioness from five local chapters attended the 67th (Hampstead) and 74th (Lineboro/Manchester) Charter Night event. The first vice District Governor Evan Gillett rededicated the charters of both clubs. Lions President Dennis Sew (Hampstead) and Micki Baylor (Lineboro/Manchester) addressed the group for continued success towards the goals of Lions Club International. Past District Governor Andy DeMario was the Master of Ceremonies.
The final Demolition Derby of the season, in Arcadia, will be held Oct. 27.
The games open at 1 p.m. and the racing begins at 4 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, ages 12-17 are $10 each, and those 11 and younger are free.
The theme for this event is Halloween Trunk or Treat and they will host a meet and greet at 2 p.m. A Kids Power Wheels Derby will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. There will even be a fireworks display.

A raffle will be held for the entire month of November through Lazarus United Church of Christ.
Drawings will be held every day during the designer raffle that features prizes such as items that are Pandora, Thirty-One, Vera Bradley, Coach and Michael Kors. Tickets are $15 each.
The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County planted three young trees, an elm and two willow oaks, at Cape Horn Park in Manchester on Sept. 27. This was part of an event called Safer in the Shade, which has a purpose to raise awareness about the need to protect yourself from sun over-exposure.
If you’re interested, the cost is $92 per person and includes the show, a meal at Bird-In-Hand Family Restaurant, and the motor coach ride. The bus will leave the church at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 5:45 p.m. Seats are limited, so if you’re interested, you should RSVP as soon as possible.

The Hampstead Ravens are hosting a quarter auction on Friday, Nov. 9, at the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction starts at 7 p.m.
Some of the prizes include gift baskets, Pampered Chef, and Thirty-One. Food will also be available for purchase. Admission is $15 per person and includes $10 in quarters and two paddles. Additional paddles are available.

NESAP in Hampstead has a lot of events coming up including a Christmas sale in Arcadia; A Can for the Van Food Drive; Giving Tuesday Matching Challenge; and Hot Chocolate at Santa’s House.
The Christmas sale will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Arcadia Activities Center, 16020 Carnival Ave., Upperco. Some of the items for sale include decorations, lights, trees, wreaths, gifts, collectibles, jewelry, toys, books and more. The proceeds benefit the NESAP Assistance Programs for the community in need.
