Looking for something to do to get in shape and have some fun? Join the Zumba classes at Lazarus United Church of Christ, from April 8 through May 30 on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

The eight-week class is $40 for the full session and $5 for drop ins. You can join one of two classes, one from 6 to 7 p.m. and the other from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.

Spring Carnival at Ebb Valley Elementary

A Spring Carnival will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Ebb Valley Elementary School.

Join the event to support the students at the school with games, raffle drawings and dancing, with music from a DJ. There will be hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, candy and drinks available for purchase.

The school will also hold its Spring BOGO Book Fair.

Hampstead fire company to host Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt

A breakfast and egg hunt will be held at the Hampstead fire station on Saturday, April 13.

North Carroll: Art fair bringing 'Smiles & Purrs' to Ruhlman Brewery; Easter fun in Manchester

The inaugural Smiles & Purrs Art Fair will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at Ruhlman Brewery in Hampstead.

The breakfast, with the Easter bunny present, will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m., with the bunny posing for photos with children of all ages.

At 10:45 a.m. the giant egg hunt will be held, rain or shine, and there will be thousands of filled eggs on the fire company grounds. The hunt will be divided into three age groups: 0-5, 6-10, and 11 or older.

The cost for the event is a donation to the fire company. The fire department is at 1341 N. Main St. in Hampstead.

Lineboro fire company hosting Easter event

A Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is planned for 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department.

Attendees can enjoy a meal consisting of all-you-can-eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, a breakfast casserole, biscuits and gravy.

After breakfast, there will be activities including an egg hunt, crafts and pictures with the Easter bunny.

Gun Social at Manchester fire company

After you have joined one of the local fire departments for breakfast and an Easter egg hunt, get ready for the Gun Social that runs from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company.

The event is being presented by the fire company and Dug Hill Rod & Gun Club.

There will be a gun drawing every 15 minutes from 5 to 9 p.m. The cost is $40 per person, and a cash bar will be available. There is no BYOB.

Some of the guns that will be prizes include, but are not limited to, a Remington 783 7MM, a Ruger American 7MM-08, a Mossberg 500M 12GA, and a Ruger American 17HMR.

Scholarship available through Catherine’s Cause

Catherine’s Cause is offering a scholarship in memory of Catherine Anne Mullikin. The scholarship is $1,000 and will be awarded to a student from any Carroll County high school who is studying education as a major.

Applicants must submit copies of an official high school transcript and a college acceptance letter; two letters of reference are required (one from a teacher and one from a non-family member); parent/legal signatures are mandatory; and they must have earned a high school cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 at the time of the application. Applications are due April 15.
