Cub Scout Pack 791, of Hampstead, is hosting a flapjack fundraiser breakfast from 8 until 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Applebee’s in Westminster.
The cost is $7 per person and the proceeds benefit the Pack and their functions.

Date Night Fundraiser
Spring Garden Elementary School is hosting a Parent Date Night fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 9 at Four Seasons Sports Complex.
The proceeds benefit the new playground fund. Their playground, though currently safe to use, needs to be replaced. The school must fund the project themselves and are looking to the school community for support.
The cost is $30 for the first child, $10 for the second child and $5 for each additional child. There will be pizza and ice cream provided. Activities will be in abundance and include inflatables, sports, Nerf gun battle (bring your Nerf gun but no foam ball Nerf guns), cookie decorating, glow sticks, dance party and a movie. This is geared for those ages two to 10.

Winter Yard Sale
Manchester Valley High School Class of 2021 is hosting a Winter Yard Sale from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 in the school cafeteria. All items are priced to sell, and the proceeds benefit the class and their functions.
The school is located at 3300 Maple Grove Road, Manchester.
The Lazarus United Church of Christ Food Pantry will be open from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. All are welcome.

Conquer Cancer! event
Lazarus UCC will be hosting a Conquer Cancer! event at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 17.
The event is being held to “support the fighters, admire the survivors and honor the taken,” according to an email from one of the event coordinators, April Graham.
For a $20 donation you will receive a customized “Conquer Cancer” T-shirt, as well as a handmade bracelet representing all of the different cancers. There will be a special candle lighting during the service and a light luncheon will follow.
All of the money collected from the T-shirt donation, as well as any additional donations, will be donated to the Carroll Hospice Dove House and the William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center, both in Westminster.
In addition, White Pine Paving Company will have their Cancer Truck displayed on the parking lot.
A snow date of Feb. 24 is scheduled. The church is located at 5101 Church St., Lineboro.
Donations are currently being sought, as well as sponsorships, for the 2019 Relay for Life Bingo. This event, which will be held at the Manchester Activities Building, will be held May 4. All of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

The Hampstead Lions-Lioness Clubs will present three $1,500 scholarships to three individuals of the 2019 Manchester Valley High School’s graduating class (with the address containing zip code 21074).
The scholarships are awarded based on scholastic achievement, community participation, and financial need. One of these awards, the H. Craig Snyder Memorial Scholarship, will be awarded to a graduate of the Career and Technology Center.
No essay is required for any of these scholarships. Applications are available in the guidance office at MVHS and are due back to the guidance office no later than March 29.
