Fire destroys camper Tuesday night in New Windsor, state fire marshal says

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that destroyed a camper in New Windsor on Tuesday night.

It took 20 firefighters from the New Windsor volunteer fire company about 10 minutes to control the fire on the 2500 block of Marston Road, according to a news release from the fire marshal, after the call came in at 9:49 Tuesday night.

No one was injured in the blaze, according to the release, but a 2014 Goldrush Durango camper was destroyed, resulting in an estimated $25,000 in damage.

The fire started in the interior of the camper, according to the release, but the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
