The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a shed fire that occurred Sunday in Mount Airy.
The incident, which took place at about 1:33 a.m. on Harrisville Road, involved a one-story wood frame shed. The blaze caused an estimated $7,000 in loss, according to the notice of investigation from the Fire Marshal's Office.
It took 50 firefighters from Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company about 90 minutes to put the fire out, according to the notice. The area of origin and preliminary cause remain under investigation.
