Children were taught the necessary basics to feel comfortable using a sewing machine during a beginner-level class at Exploration Commons at 50 East Tuesday in Westminster. The class, for children ages 10-16, was offered through the Carroll County Public Library system and allowed students to use the Bernina sewing machines available at Exploration Commons. It aimed to help kids to feel confident about sewing their own projects. Another beginners’ sewing class, this one for ages 15 to adult, is planned for noon-2:30 p.m., July 19 at Exploration Commons.
