The project was brought together to recognize local veterans, honor them for their service and share their memories with future generations.

The media center has nearly 70 interviews in the collection, which features individuals in all branches of the military and local veterans who served during World War II, Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq, according to the news release.

“These important, personal accounts can provide powerful insights into the experiences of our local veterans,” the news release stated. “Through their stories, we can begin to see how military experiences affect every aspect of life, regardless of whether a person served overseas or stateside.”

The interviews will become part of the Carroll County History Project and broadcasted on Channel HD 1086 and Channel 19.

The videos will be taken at the Community Media Center, at 1301 Washington Road in Westminster.
