Why are you interested in running for this office?

After 30 years of trial work before the courts, at this stage in my career I would welcome the opportunity to serve the community as a Judge in the Circuit Court. My experience in criminal, civil, domestic and other matters before the court far exceed that of my opponents. I would value the opportunity to put my skills and experience to use in serving the community as a Judge.

Explain why you are qualified for the office you seek.

I have represented thousands of clients and their families in my 30 years of trial experience, in all types of cases that come before the Circuit Court. I understand that the current Incumbent was politically appointed, and had extremely limited experience trying criminal cases while in private practice. Approximately 70 percent of the Court’s docket are criminal cases. The Court requires an experienced Judge, and I have the most experience by far.

What are the three main issues you wish to address during your campaign and how do you plan to address them?

a.The Court requires a Judge to strictly interpret the Constitution and apply the law to the facts of each case. Too many Judges appear to make law, rather than apply it as it was written by our legislators.

b.The Court needs a Judge who has broad experience trying criminal, civil, domestic and other cases that come before the Court on a daily basis. It is not a position you can learn on the job. My 30 years of experience in all of these areas of law will greatly assist the Court system in resolving cases fairly, effectively and efficiently.

c.  The Court requires a Judge to be fair, impartial, and uphold the law to protect the rights of all citizens who appear before the Court. My conservative values, knowledge and experience will ensure that all citizens will stand equal under the law.
