Looking for Easter baskets, activities, events for kids in Carroll County? Try these.

Numerous Easter activities are coming up for kids, including all manner of egg hunts on trails and utilizing trunks, at churches and farms. Here’s a listing of some of what’s happening in Carroll County.

Easter Baskets

The Shepherd’s Staff, with the help of the community, has collected hundreds of Easter Baskets for families in Carroll County.

Although the donations will continue to be accepted, it is now time to make an appointment to receive the age appropriate baskets. Baskets will be available for ages infants through teens and include items like: coloring and word search books, Christian story books, crayons, stickers, puzzles, crafts kits, sports balls, small toys, jump ropes, bubbles, play dough, games, nail polish, body wash and non-candy snacks. Each basket is different.

Baskets can be picked up at The Shepherd Staff’s 30 Carroll Street location, by appointment only, from March 22 through April 12. Call 410-857-5944 to schedule an appointment.

Trunk and Hop

A Deven’s Deals Outdoor Holiday Experience for the whole family, games, goodies, prizes, food, drink and the Easter Bunny himself will be on hand, along with a professional photographer, at the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department on Saturday, March 27 at 11 a.m.

Drive Thru Easter Egg Event

A Drive Thru Easter Egg Event sponsored by the Mount Airy Lions Club will be held at the Mount Airy Carnival Grounds from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27. The format of the annual event has been changed to make it safer due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Easter Egg Hunt

An Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Taneytown Parks and Recreation Department will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Taneytown Memorial Park on Saturday, March 27. The Easter Bunny will be on hand and individually wrapped cookies and juices will be given away, but don’t forget to bring an Easter basket. Every egg will have a toy or candy inside and there will be free prize drawings and raffles.

Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 3, the Lazarus United Church of Christ in Lineboro will hold at Easter Egg Hunt. Crafts for kids will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the egg hunt starts at 11. All are welcome and kids will be divided into hunts by age.

Live Hope Laugh Egg Hunt

Live Hope Laugh will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for kids at 128 City View Ave. in Westminster on Saturday, April 3 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is through the Live, Hope, Laugh: Alexis Ross Organization, which works to “improve the lives of chronically ill children, through various programs implemented throughout the year.” The organization collects canned goods, water, snacks and toiletries to be delivered to families with chronically ill children year round and is collecting baked goods and Easter candy for this event.

Speggtacular Hunt

Oakland United Methodist Church and Cherie Stevens will hold a Speggtacular Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3, at 1 p.m. open to all kids from age 1 through sixth grade in the church’s lower parking lot at 5901 Mineral Hill Road.
