Missing Sykesville man found dead in Montgomery County park

A Sykesville man reported missing Aug. 3 has been found dead in a Montgomery County park.

Daniel Taylor Evans, 40, was found in the Booze Creek Stream Valley Park in Bethesda on Thursday. He was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who identified him, according to a news release from the Montgomery County Police Department.

Evans was found in a creek after a resident from Heatherhill Court in Bethesda called around 7:20 p.m. to report that he located a deceased person, according to the release.

Evans was last seen around 6 a.m. Aug. 3 as he headed to work in Rockville. He was involved in a hit-and-run collision in Bethesda in the afternoon on Aug. 3. The driver, who was not identified, fled on foot, and it was not clear if Evans was the driver.

At this time, the medical examiner's office has not released a cause or manner of death, according to the Montgomery County police release.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department's Major Crime Division at 240-773-5070.

In a release, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said it thanked anyone who shared the lookout or helped with the search.
