The Carroll County Planning Department has set two dates this month to share the draft of its comprehensive rezoning for industrial, commercial and employment campus districts.
The first meeting is slated for 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at the County Office Building in Westminster. The second meeting will take place the following day, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the South Carroll Senior and Community Center in Eldersburg.
Proposed changes include some redistricting of commercial and industrial districts, and the revision, deletion or addition of definitions of terms. The entire text can be found online, along with a companion document outlining the major changes.
“We will be taking public comment and coming back to [the Board of Commissioners] prior to the public hearing,” Planning Director Lynda Eisenberg said at the previous joint meeting between the two bodies in February.
In that way the board can use citizen feedback to decide what additional changes to implement before the public hearing, she said.
“There are always those few people that may not agree and will stay the course,” Eisenberg said, “and then there will be people who had an issue with something who no longer have that issue.”
