With Carroll County Public Schools closed for the summer, local pools will now be staying open on weekdays.
And although the closure of both Cascade Lake and the Sullivan Heights Pool in 2018 shrank the number of public options, there are still more than a half-dozen places for families and children to take a dip.
Public pools
Westminster Municipal Pool
Hours: Noon to 7 p.m. daily.
Daily admission: $7, or 10 visits for $50; children 2 and younger are free with paid adult.
Memberships: City resident $128, family $200; non-city resident $146, non-city family $260.

Manchester-Lineboro Lions Club
Hours: Noon to 7 p.m. daily.

Memberships: $450. There is a waiting list, and new applicants pay a $550 refundable bond, a $50 initiation fee and a $25 application fee, which are not refundable.
