The Carroll County Veterans Independence Project is hosting its first Red, White & Blue Gala to kick-off fundraising for its new Veteran’s Services Center in Westminster.
From 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, the gala will feature a dinner, silent auction and dancing to the Appaloosa Band at Martin’s Westminster, 505 Jermor Lane.
“This is our first, major initial fundraiser,” said Ed Cramer, CCVIP vice president Wednesday. “We are using it to kick off our fundraising campaign as we now get more serious raising money for the VSC.”
The proceeds will go toward renovating the USAR Building on Malcolm Drive and turning it into a facility that will provide training, mentoring, shelter, socialization, resources and advocacy for Carroll’s veterans.
“When we get our veterans services all set up — we’ve been talking about getting [Veteran Service Officers] moving into the office — we can get people into rehabilitative services, any services they need,” Cramer said.
More information about tickets and sponsorship for the Red, White & Blue Gala is available by calling Gala Chairman Ann Gilbert at 410-596-2890 or visiting the CCVIP website at carrollcountyvip.org/gala.
Tickets to the event are $90 per person and payments can be made by cash, credit card or check. Checks must be made payable to “The Veterans Independence Project.”
