Carroll County turns 183 years old this year and a county birthday celebration is taking place on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 18 in Westminster.
The Historical Society of Carroll County sponsors the event, which will be held in the Grace Hall at Grace Lutheran Church, 21 Carroll St., from 2 to 4 p.m.
Guest speaker Burt Kummerow, the former president and CEO of the Maryland Historical Society, will speak on the topic “George Washington and Maryland: A Lifelong Relationship that Helped Define a New Nation.”
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
