Firefighters quickly extinguished a vehicle fire on Deer Park Road near Liberty Reservoir Bridge in Finksburg on Sunday night. Investigators then learned it had been reported stolen from the Owings Mills area by the owner.
Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal believe that the fire was started intentionally in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, according to a notice of investigation.
No injuries were reported. Passerby discovered the vehicle fire and called for emergency services. The Gamber & Community Fire Company was the first to arrive on scene after the initial fire call went out at 9:58 p.m. About seven firefighters were able to control the fire in the 2008 Honda CR-V in approximately five minutes.
