Carroll County Chamber of Commerce announces Biz Challenge finalists

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce on Monday announced the five finalists for this year’s Carroll Biz Challenge.

The finalists were chosen from a pool of some 30 applications.

The five finalists are: Covalent Spirits, by entrepreneur Jennifer Yang; Dirigible, by entrepreneur Julius Knapp; RetroStrap, by entrepreneur Eric Wendler; Together Studios, by entrepreneur Jenna Shriver; and Willet Family Farms, by entrepreneur Jermey Willet.

Covalent Spirits is a nano distillery with a tasting room and event space in downtown Westminster. Dirigible is a fog computing company that enables responsive web applications and data processing. RetroStrap is a patented retractable strap that attaches to almost any computer bag, sports bag, briefcase or luggage item. Together Studios is a female-focused co-workspace, studio and community with the resources for creative entrepreneurs. Willet Farms is an event center where neighbors are invited to gather for experiences to inspire change, according to a news release by the Chamber of Commerce.

The finalists will compete at the live finale on Aug. 27 for a chance at the $1,000 People’s Choice award and the $5,000 Grand Prize.
