The accident was caused by a car headed eastbound that went over the median and struck two cars going westbound, according to police.

A tow truck is on the scene and westbound traffic has been stopped, Sgt. Christopher Hall told the Times.

“The road should be opened here shortly,” he said, “because tow trucks are on the scene.”

Hall said travelers can take Md. 91 North to Lawndale Road, toward Sandymount, to avoid the traffic.
