A utility pole that was felled onto the roadway by a vehicle crashing into it caused Md. 32 to be closed near Bollinger Mill Road, south of Gamber, just before noon Tuesday.
Maryland State Police said Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. estimated the road would be closed for three to four hours while crews worked to repair the damage. The road was reopened just after 4 p.m.
A vehicle struck the pole at Rt. 32 and Lemans Street around 11:45 a.m. There were no power outages associated with the incident, said a communications manager for BGE.
The Maryland State Highway Administration was coordinating detours in the area.
