Carroll County Del. Haven Shoemaker appointed to new leadership position in House Republican Caucus

Carroll County Del. Haven Shoemaker, R-District 5, has been appointed to a new leadership position in the House Republican Caucus in Annapolis.

House Minority Leader Jason Buckel and House Minority Whip Chris Adams on Wednesday announced three new appointments in a news release, and Shoemaker is taking over as Chief Deputy Minority Whip. Shoemaker previously served as the Minority Parliamentarian for the Caucus, and he’s replacing Buckel upon his election as Minority Leader.

“I truly appreciate the confidence our new leadership team has placed in me by giving me this promotion,” Shoemaker said in the release. “I will do everything possible to demonstrate that they made the right choice.”

Michael Malone has been appointed to serve as the new Minority Parliamentarian, and Seth Howard has been appointed to serve as a Deputy Minority Whip for the caucus, filling the vacancy created upon Adams’ election as Minority Whip.

“Each of these individuals brings their own unique set of talents to these new roles,” Adams said in the release. “They are all dedicated to making Maryland an even better place to live, work, and run a business.”
