Community meeting on drugs, alcohol, Internet and social media safety

The Carrolltowne Elementary School PTA will host a community meeting on drugs, alcohol, and Internet and social media safety for parents at 7 p.m. May 18 at the school, 6542 Ridge Road, Eldersburg.

Parents will have the opportunity to learn about these issues from the perspective of panel discussion participants Thomas Clowes, principal, Liberty High School; Sheriff Jim DeWees, Carroll County Sheriff's Office; Susan Doyle, director of addiction services, Carroll County Health Department; Beth Schmidt, parent; and Master Deputy Worthington Washington, Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

Superintendent of Schools Stephen Guthrie and Carrolltowne principal Vicki Winner also will be in attendance.
