The honorees, each of whom received a $6,500 scholarship, also were presented with a plaque from Bridgewater President David W. Bushman and will be recognized with a nameplate on the "Durna Scholar of the Year" plaque in the college's Kline Campus Center.

The scholarship memorializes the affection that John W. Durna, Class of 1939, and Lurene M. Hartman Durna, Class of 1940, had for their alma mater. The scholarship is limited to full-time students and is awarded for one year.

The college is in Bridgewater, Virginia.
