On May 18, the Westminster High School Chapter of the National FFA Organization held its annual awards banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of its members. Awards were presented for superior achievement in FFA leadership, citizenship, scholarship, and career development. Members also were awarded for accomplishments in their Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs. During the event, members were recognized for earning FFA Membership Degrees. Nine members earned the Greenhand FFA Degree, with Lane Deaton being named as Star Greenhand. Eight members earned the Westminster FFA Chapter Degree, with Katie Martin being named as Chapter Star. The event ended with the installation of the 2017-2018 officers, who were then recognized and given leadership advice from visiting legislators Commissioner Richard Weaver and Delegate Haven Shoemaker.
