Melanie Carol Erb, daughter of Robert Alan Erb, of Westminster, and William Orval Runge, son of Drs. Marschall Stevens Runge and Susan Riggs Runge, were married at University United Methodist Church, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on July 19, 2014.
The Rev. Carl King performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor was Kathryn Johnson, of Falls Church, Virginia. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Blyth, of Durham, North Carolina, sister of the groom; Kathryn Brown and Julie Latsko, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sara Lackner, of Cambridge, England; and Laura Tucker, of Baltimore.
Best man was Calen Henderson, of Columbus, Ohio. Groomsmen were Matthew Heller, of Philadelphia; Vishavpreet "Ricky" Singh, of Chapel Hill; and John, Mason and Thomas Runge, all of Chapel Hill, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Charles Blyth, of Durham, brother-in-law of the groom; and Charles Wood, of Durham, cousin of the groom.
The reception was held at Chapel Hill Country Club.
The newlyweds are residing in Chapel Hill.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of the Montessori School of Westminster; a 2005 graduate of Garrison Forest School; a 2009 graduate of Vanderbilt University; and a 2013 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School where she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. She is employed by UNC Health Care.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Chapel Hill High School; a 2009 graduate of Vanderbilt University; and a 2011 graduate of George Institute of Technology. He is attending medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
