The Rev. Iris Sauber, spiritual leader for the Center for Conscious Living, announced that the center will be hosting Wisdom Workshops throughout 2015 at the Finksburg and Reisterstown libraries.
The workshops, which are open to all, cover many topics – from learning how to be an effective presenter to working within a nonprofit structure to principles for abundant living, among others. Workshp costs vary according to the presenter.
The first workshop in the series is "The Spiritual Path to Writing a Book," to be held at the Reisterstown library, 21 Cockeys Mill Road, at 1 p.m. March 28. The presenter will be DeBora Ricks, editor, lecturer and author of "Write That Book! How to Start or Finish The Book You Were Meant to Write." The workshop focuses on the many challenges when writing a book, such as how to navigate through writer's block, practices that grow creativity and more. Ricks encourages attendees to bring their manuscript, finished or unfinished, to the workshop for feedback and discussion.
The cost for this first workshop is $45 until March 13; it will be $50 thereafter, until March 27. Per library requirements, registration cannot be taken at the door. To register, go http://www.ccccl.org/wisdomworkshops.
The Center for Conscious Living is a faith community meeting at the Freedom Masonic Lodge in Eldersburg. Offerings include Sunday services, spiritual classes, meditation, social events, service projects and children's programs as well as the Wisdom Workshops.
