St. Mary's Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 3978 Littlestown Pike, Silver Run, has planned several services.
On Maundy Thursday, April 2, worship will be held at 7:30 p.m. and will include confession and forgiveness with the laying on of hands, the pedilavium (foot washing), the Eucharist and stripping of the altar.
On Good Friday, April 3, a devotional using the Stations of the Cross adapted from Pope John Paul II and based on Holy Scriptures will be offered at 2 p.m. Those attending are suggested to dress appropriately as the Stations will be held outside, or in the parish house in case of inclement weather. At 7:30 p.m. on Good Friday, a service featuring the Passion of St. John, the Bidding Prayer and Solemn Reproaches will take place in the sanctuary.
On Holy Saturday, April 4, there will be a potluck meal, an egg hunt for children and music, starting at 4 p.m.
A festival worship service of the Resurrection of Our Lord will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 5.
