Septic Care: Important Information for Homeowners: 7 p.m. For adults. George Schooley, certified septic system installer, inspector, and founder of Legacy Septic & Excavation will share how to maintain your septic system to keep it working properly, helping you protect your home and family. Questions regarding BAT systems, sand mounds, and other new technology will also be addressed. Schooley will provide a brief presentation on the care of septic systems, followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Crafts from the Past: Noon. For ages 7-11. Register for this event. Corn husk dolls, toy boats, pinwheels...what toys might kids in the 1800s have made and played with? Take a trip into the past as we try out some of the crafts from the Living History Camp at the Carroll County Farm Museum. A Celebrating America program.

Free Spirit Book Club: 2 p.m. For adults. Please join us for a discussion about our chosen book, "Prayers for the Stolen," by Jennifer Clement.

Learn to Code: HTML & CSS: 2 p.m. For ages 11-17. Learn how to create websites by structuring and styling your pages with HTML and CSS. This series of classes will be taught using an online tool and is led by a member of the Computer Science Teachers Association. Once registered, you are signed up for all three classes (March 5, 12 and 19). All attendees need to register.

Service Learning Hours: KidWorks: 5:30 p.m. For ages 12-17. KidWorks meets twice a month. At the first meeting we spend an hour planning a storytime for younger kids. At the second meeting (March 28, April 25 and May 23) we present the storytime. You must come to both meetings to earn three service learning hours.

Mah Jongg 101: 6:30 p.m. For adults. In this introductory class you will learn the history and basics of this ancient and challenging tile game. People all over the world are playing, so come see what it is all about! We will follow the National Mah Jongg League rules of play. Great brain exercise and great fun! A Celebrating America program.

Deep Relaxation Class: 7 p.m. For ages 13-adults. Join us and experience the benefits of a deep relaxation session, in this inward focused yoga class. Through gentle asanas (comfortable stretching), yoga nidra (deep relaxation), an introduction to pranayama (breathing practices), and meditation we work from the physical body to the subtle bodies, restoring and inviting peace to our being. No experience necessary. Please bring a mat and a blanket. All attendees need to register.

Yoga with Syeda: 6:30 p.m. For adults. Set an hour aside for yourself. Join Syeda Khan for a free, invigorating yoga session in a soothing atmosphere. Register to assure a place; drop-ins on a first come basis.

Publish Big, Publish Small, & Sell it Again with Lois Szymanski: 1 p.m. For adults. Lois Szymanski, author of 27 books, will discuss how to approach a publisher without an agent, how to market your book to sell, and why small presses may be a strong option at a time where the doors to publishing grow harder to open. Szymanski also teaches writing classes at Carroll Community College.

PAWS to Read: 2 p.m. For ages 5-17. Come to the library and read a story to a book-loving dog. Research shows that children enjoy improving their reading skills by practicing the art of reading to animals. Registration preferred, but walk-ins welcome. Only kids need to register.

Dr. Buckley is a Mount Airy physician with Carroll Health Group and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She earned her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed her residency at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.

This is a program focused on early literacy, where children and their caretakers learn and play together. The program features a 15 minute storytime followed by several stations that encourage the development of school readiness skills in children. North Carroll Writers Group: 6:30 p.m. For adults. Interested in writing? Want to meet others who are too? The NCWG is dedicated to helping people improve their writing. Each session features a short exercise to focus on a specific writing technique, quiet time to work on your draft, and an opportunity to share your creativity in a non-judgmental atmosphere.
