Hunting for Easter Eggs in Carroll County

Feeling scrambled trying to keep track of all the Easter Egg hunts coming up in Carroll County over the next couple of weeks? To help you whisk through the Easter season and make sure it's all over easy, the Times has gathered this collection of egg hunts from throughout the county.



Join the Hampstead volunteer fire company, 1341 N. Main St., for an Easter breakfast and egg hunt on April 8. The breakfast runs from 8 to 10:30 a.m. with the hunt starting at 10:45 a.m. The Easter Bunny will be on site for photos and hangouts during the event.


Charlotte's Quest Nature Center, 3400 Wilhelm Lane, will host its annual egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, with a rain date of Saturday, April 15. The hunt is open to children from walking age to 12, with hunts broken into four separate groups. Each child will search through the available eggs for the special prize egg, which leads to the grand prize for each age group. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. sharp, so children are asked to be there and ready by 9:45 a.m.

Mount Airy

For a slightly unique Easter Egg hunt, head out to downtown Mount Airy for the Community Easter Egg Hunt. Each participating shop in the downtown area will display a decorated egg. Participants who find the egg can get their master card marked. Once all eggs have been found, the card can be entered into a competition for a collection of gifts by all of the participating shops.


Visit the Wisdom Court Kids Club's Easter Egg Hunt at Millard Cooper Park, Springfield Ave., from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15. The eggs will be filled with candy in time for the hunt beginning at 3:30 p.m. Those looking to attend are asked to visit the Wisdom Court Kids Club Facebook page and RSVP so they have enough eggs.


The TownMall of Westminster, 400 N. Center St., is hosting its first-ever Tots2Tweens Egg Hunt from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 1. At the event, the first 500 children to visit the Tots2Tweens booth will receive a commemorative bucket where they can receive treats from vendors. In addition to the treats, the mall will create a special Egg Hunt Meadow where children can search for plastic eggs that can be exchanged for goody bags.

The City of Westminster is hosting its annual Egg Hunt in Westminster City Park, 11 Longwell Ave. on Saturday, April 8. The event begins with an egg hunt for children 4 and younger at 10:30 a.m. with a second hunt for those 5 to 8 at 11:30 a.m. Children should bring their own basket. A golden ticket egg will be hidden among the eggs with a special prize.

For those looking for an egg hunt after dark, Westminster is also hosting the annual Twilight Egg Hunt at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13. The event is open to those 9 to 12 will feature a DJ and prizes for those who find the special prize eggs. This will take place at the Westminster City Park, 11 Longwell Ave. for the first time this year.

The Church of the Ascension, 23 N. Court St., Westminster will host a Special Needs Community Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15. Participants are asked to RSVP by April 13 to 410-984-4369 or

Library Events

The Taneytown branch of the Carroll County Public Library will host a Spring Things Egg Hunt for ages 1 to 4 at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2. The event will feature decorating tips, craft making and an egg hunt.


Join the Eldersburg branch for an Easter Eggstravaganza, with games, crafts and a hunt for all ages at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, and 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 10.

The Westminster branch's all ages egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8.

The Bunny and Egg Extravaganza featuring an egg hunt, storytime and craft for children 10 and younger begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at the Mount Airy branch and 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13.

The Roaring Run Lions Club and Finksburg branch are hosting an Egg-stravaganza egg hunt for children 9 and younger at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15.
