Members of St. Mary's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Silver Run, cleared cattails from the community pond in the Silver Run-Union Mills Lions Park in Union Mills on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Their work was part of a national effort by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America called "God's Work, Our Hands." Lutheran churches across the country were encouraged to reach out in a day of service to their communities.
