Carroll residents will have a chance to see a piece of history Saturday, as the Commemorative Air Force Red Tail Squadron brings the film "Rise Above" and a P-51c Mustang to the Carroll County Regional Airport as part of its mission to spread the word about the Tuskegee Airmen.
This event will focus on the contributions of the Tuskegee Airmen, the country's first black military pilots, and will feature a P-51c Mustang on display as well as a screening of the film "Rise Above," based on the airmen's military accomplishments. These pilots, who fought in World War II, served their country while subject to racial discrimination both in their day-to-day lives and within the military structure.
