Listen to the sounds of student musicians at McDaniel College this weekend, as the school hosts a trio of spring-semester performances. For those who haven't had a chance to search for eggs, The Church of the Ascension is hosting a Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before the holiday.

McDaniel Music Concerts

McDaniel College is hosting a trio of music performances over the next week. Their Chamber Music Ensemble performs Thursday, under the direction of Linda Kirkpatrick; while students host a Vocal and Piano Recital featuring solos from classical to contemporary music on Friday. Finally, Monday, the college will host a student solo recital featuring both vocal and instrumental performances.

When: 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Monday

Where: Chamber Music Ensemble and Student Solo Recital will take place in the McDaniel Lounge. The Voice and Piano Recital will take place at Levine Recital Hall

Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt

The Church of the Ascension is hosting a Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt Saturday afternoon. Those with any type of disability are welcome to participate in the hunt. Those wishing to participate should RSVP by April 13 by emailing or calling 410-984-4369.

High Ridge Ramblers

This West Virginia trio performs bluegrass music in the traditional style. Next weekend they will share their acquired knowledge as part of the Common Ground on the Hill Old-Time Workshop series. During the session, they will show how to take an old time fiddle or banjo tune and transform it into a string band tune. After the lesson will be a communal jam where participants are invited to play along with the group.

When: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22
