Carroll Night Out: Carroll Live on Stage returns for 2017 with Victoria Banks

Get dressed up, because Carroll Live on Stage's concert series has returned for another year of musical events in Westminster. Canada's country star Victoria Banks takes the stage Tuesday at Westminster High School. Carroll Live on Stage returns in 2017 with a performance by one of Canada's most popular country musicians, Victoria Banks. Banks released her debut album in 2009, earning nominations at the Canadian Country Music Awards including Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Songwriter of the year. Since then, Banks has released two more albums, and won the Canadian Country Music Award for Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

The 13th documentary screening

Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalists will host a screening of Ava DuVernay's newest documentary, "The 13th" at the Carroll Arts Center, Sunday. The film examines the way the 13th Amendment has lead to issues of mass incarceration. Following the film, there will be a brief panel discussion with guests.

FLICC presents Oscar Nominated Shorts

Prepare for the award ceremony on Oscar night by taking in a marathon of the Oscar Nominated Shorts of 2016. This year, FLICC is hosting all five live-action shorts and eight animated shorts for a total celebration of film. The program runs 3 hours and 53 minutes and includes a 15-minute intermission between the live-action and animated shorts.

When: 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26

Where: Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster

Cost: $7 adults, $6 Carroll County Arts Council Members, children 18 and younger and seniors older than 60.
