“The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then he caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, these were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me “Son of man, can these bones live?” so I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” (Ezekiel 37:1-3)
In the scripture above from the book of Ezekiel we read how God questions Ezekiel whether these people who have been dead for a long time could live again.
His answer was God, only you alone know if they can live again. Everything in our natural thinking and reasoning would say there is no way they could live again. However, as we read on in the story God says to the bones “surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.” Reading on further in the story we see that breath came into them and they lived.
One of the reasons I bring this story up is to show that we are in a similar place today. That is, many today are facing what looks like a dead situation with no hope in sight. If we are honest, only God alone has the full answer to some of our situations we face. Our first step should always be to humble ourselves and seek God for answers.
Faith and vision are critical for many of the things we face in the world today. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. And without vision the people perish. I am speaking here of the God kind of vision, prophetic vision. Divinely inspired prediction, instruction or exhortation.
Unfortunately, today, many only see things through their natural vision or thinking. This for sure is to be human yet God wants us to come up higher and believe Him for the impossible. Some feel they do not need God and they can get all the answers on their own. However, it is becoming abundantly clear that man does not have all the answers to today’s challenges.
We must again turn to God to become a people of faith. We need to speak faith filled words not words of fear. God wants to restore our hope again for a better future for our lives and our nation. We must find our way back to God. Many today are turning to fables and untruths, things that do not line up with the word of God.
I want to encourage all of us to once again believe God for the impossible. Trust and obey. Look into the word of God for ourselves and find real answers to our problems. If we continue to look at every situation with natural eyes only we will become hopeless. Like the message in the story of Ezekiel let us believe God will once again breath His spirit on us and we shall live and overcome every obstacle in our way.
