Religion briefs: Outdoor movie night, numerous Bible schools on tap

On Saturday, July 14, Deer Park United Methodist Church continues its Family Outdoor Movie Night. Deer Park UMC has free outdoor family movie nights on the second Saturday of the month from May through September. This month's movie is “Paddington 2.”

The movies are shown in the Deer Park UMC Pavilion, located at 2205 Sykesville Road, Westminster. Movies will start at sunset, with music and games starting at 7:30 p.m. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last, with other snacks available for purchase. Uniontown Bible Church VBS set for July 16-20

A free Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 16 through July 20 at Uniontown Bible Church in Union Bridge. Space is limited. The church urges everyone to get your kids involved in the most AMPED UP week of their summer! AMPED VBS is all about Xtreme sports and God’s Xtreme Love! During AMPED, there will be music, crafts, games, snacks, Xtreme Bible Study, and more.

Bible Camp at Taylorsville UMC, July 16-20

An evening Vacation Bible Camp begins Monday, July 16 at Taylorsville United Methodist Church in Mount Airy. It begins with Family Dinner, then, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Rolling River Rampage Evening Vacation Bible Camp where children will discover an interactive, energizing, Bible-based program that will give them an opportunity to experience the ride of a lifetime with God.

Piney Creek to host VBS, July 15-19

Piney Creek Presbyterian Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, July 15 through Thursday, July 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The theme is “Loving The Word.” Children of all ages are welcome. There will be Bible stories, crafts, games and snacks. In addition to the children's program there will be a Bible study for adults as well. Opening ceremonies on the first night, July 15, will include a puppet show presented by “The Grannies of Carroll Vista.” The church is located between Taneytown and Harney at 4472 Harney Road. Lazarus UCC VBS set for July 16-20

Vacation Bible School (VBS) returns to Lazarus United Church of Christ, 5101 S. Church St., Lineboro. It will be held Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. “Ship Wrecked” is the fun theme. For ages 2 to 12 years old. Ebenezer UMC to hold VBS, July 22-26

Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold Vacation Bible School for children in preschool through middle school from July 22 to July 26, 2018 at the church, 4901 Woodbine Road, Winfield. Activities are from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. each day. Dinner will be provided at 5:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. In this year’s theme, “Rolling River Rampage,” children will experience the Ride of a Lifetime with God by exploring how to serve God and God’s mission for our lives. Activities will include Bible memory verses, art projects, singing new songs, games and snacks. The VBS is free and open to the community. Donations for dinner are welcome, but not required. Oakland UMC to host VBS, July 23-27

Also, 2018 marks the first year for evening Vacation Bible School at Oakland UMC. All children age 4 through sixth grade are invited to attend on July 23-27 from 6:30-8:30 each night. The theme this year is "God of Wonders.” Registration is required. Call 410-795-5030.
